Let's talk about something that affects half the population and yet somehow still feels like a secret worth keeping. Your period. Mother Nature has an incredible talent for showing up uninvited, and we know she doesn't always check the calendar before picking her moment. So we wrote this, just for you.

At Skirt Club, your body is always welcome exactly as it is. Whether you're a longtime member or joining us for the very first time, we want you to feel held, informed, and completely at ease. Periods can bring with them a whole cocktail of feelings, physical discomfort, tenderness, self-consciousness, and the very human urge to just cancel and stay home in your softest pyjamas. We're here to gently talk you out of that, darling.

There is no pressure here to do anything, play in any particular way, or be anything other than yourself. Some nights that means diving in fully. Some nights it means sipping wine, soaking up the atmosphere, and letting yourself be adored from a comfortable distance. Both are equally beautiful.

This FAQ is here to answer the questions you might have been too shy to ask, with all the warmth and zero of the awkwardness.

  1. What if I get my period right before a party?
First of all, don't panic, and please don't cancel, darling. Your cycle doesn't have to cancel your plans. Many members have been exactly where you are, standing in the bathroom an hour before the party wondering "…really? Tonight?" You are so welcome here, period and all. Come, get dressed up, sip something delicious, and let yourself be surrounded by women who absolutely get it. You might just surprise yourself with how wonderful the night feels. And if you're joining us for the first time, know that you'll be especially looked after. Our wonderful team will make sure of it.

  2. What if my period starts during the event?
It happens, love, and it's okay. It's truly okay. Take a moment for yourself, head to the bathroom, and give yourself a little grace. You don't owe anyone an explanation, and nobody is keeping tabs. Our spaces are warm and judgment-free, and that includes your body doing its very normal, very human thing. If you're in pain or just need a moment to reset, please come and find one of our hostesses. We have pain relief, everything you need in the bathrooms, and a team that genuinely cares. Take a breath, take your time, and come back to the party whenever you're ready. We'll be here, we promise.

  3. How do I tell someone I’m on my period?
Something as simple and gentle as "I'm on my period tonight, just so you know" is truly all you need. You don't need to apologise for it, over-explain it, or make it a bigger deal than it is, because it isn't one. Most people will simply smile, say thank you, and carry on. And remember, you never have to do anything you don't feel completely comfortable with, period or not. At Skirt Club, your boundaries are always respected, always honoured, and the people around you will follow your lead with kindness. A soft heads-up is always a lovely thing to offer, and it's never, ever a barrier to a beautiful night.

  4. What can I still do if I have my period?
So much, honestly! Kissing, touching, connecting, dancing, flirting, none of that requires your uterus to cooperate. And yes, if you and your partner are both comfortable, period sex is absolutely welcome here too. We're all grown women and we believe in pleasure without unnecessary rules. That said, you might also find that your body is calling for something softer that evening, more tenderness, more simply being present. That is just as valid and just as beautiful. You get to decide what feels good, completely on your own terms. Just follow what feels right for your body that night, darling.

  5. What about mess? How do I handle that practically?
A little preparation really does go a long way, and it's simpler than you might think, babe. A dark towel, a menstrual disc, and a spare pair of underwear tucked in your bag will cover most moments. If you're playing on furniture or beds, laying something down first is just a gentle, considerate thing to do, period or not. And if something happens? It's a natural body fluid, it cleans up easily, and not a single person here will make you feel anything other than completely fine. Our hostesses and event managers are always nearby and genuinely happy to help with anything you need. Just come and find us, no explanation necessary. We've got you.

  6. Can I still receive pleasure?
Yes, wholeheartedly yes. Period or not, your body is completely deserving of pleasure, tenderness, and connection, darling. Many people actually find they're more sensitive during their period, which can make intimacy feel even richer and more intense. Whether it's a long massage, some deeply attentive kissing, or something more, receiving is always, always on the table. You are not "too much." You are not "off limits." You are a guest, and you deserve to feel wonderful. If your body is feeling tender or emotional, let that be known and let yourself be taken care of. That is its own kind of magic.

  7. What should I bring with me just in case?
Here's your little just-in-case kit, tucked lovingly into that gorgeous bag of yours:
  • Your preferred period product (and a backup, just in case)
  • A menstrual disc if you're thinking about penetrative play
  • A spare pair of underwear
  • A dark coloured towel or sarong
  • Pain relief, if cramps like to make an uninvited appearance

And know that we've already thought of you, love. Pads, tampons, wipes and more are stocked in the bathrooms and throughout the venue, so you're never far from what you need. Our team is always around, and always here to help. You belong here, exactly as you are.

And one last thing.

Your period is not an apology. It is not a reason to shrink, hide, or stay home. Skirt Club is a space built on acceptance, pleasure, and the belief that every woman deserves to feel desired and at ease in her own body. So come as you are, darling. We'll take care of the rest.

With love,
The Skirt Club Team
