Darling, let us provide you with the perfect entry into the world of shibari, with Marie as your esteemed teacher and guide. You will learn how to seductively weave a variety of harnesses and collars which you can apply to the legs, arms and chest - both for you and your partner. You will also learn how to use rope as a tool to explore the senses (smell, touch, sight, sound) and how to create an engaging rope scene for others (or just yourselves) to enjoy.
This workshop is a partner workshop. Guests will be paired up with other attendees to practise on the day. Alternatively, we recommend you invite a friend or lover with you to enjoy the experience together.

About Marie Sauvage
Marie Sauvage started her shibari journey in Japan in 2017 with the most renowned and accomplished shibari artist in the world, Hajime Kinoko.
She is one of the few women who publicly performs Shibari, a Japanese art form that has been predominantly practiced by men. Her feminine approach has given the art of tying a fresh perspective, making rope feel more approachable to a wider audience, especially a female audience. Her tying has subverted the cultural norms around rope, garnering the curiosity of people beyond the world of fetishism.
For Marie, shibari is a celebration of this intimacy. By reveling in the eroticized human body, the elegant lines of rope defy the pull of gravity, transcending both muse and audience to a realized freedom. One is left spellbound in the perfume of Marie’s performance.
Marie says: "Shibari is an incredible art because it’s creating a conversation about trust and vulnerability and being present in our bodies, subjects that are really important for our emotional and spiritual well being. 2 x Lengths of 8m Ropes (Jute or Hemp is best recommended).
NOTE: If you would like Skirt Club to provide the rope for you, please select the 'Beginners Rope Kit' add on in the ticket drop down selection. This option will secure you the gift of a beginners rope set, including two lengths of quality jute rope and a set of black safety shears, which are yours to keep after the event. Your set will be waiting for you in the studio on the day. Alternatively, you may bring your own.

Dress Code
We suggest you wear comfortable layers to practise tying. Wearing lingerie is welcome, but optional. Please do not wear any items which you feel too precious to use with rope.
