The 'New Woman'
The most familiar symbol of the "Roaring Twenties" is the flapper; a young woman with bobbed hair and short skirts who drank, smoked and said what might be termed "unladylike" things and was more sexually "free" than previous generations. Women had gained some unprecedented freedoms, including the right to vote, birth-control, oh and bubble gum was invented!
However in the 1920s a law was passed causing a rebellion, one that was dark and devious. The prohibition of alcohol in the United States was not willingly accepted, and so the "speakeasy" was born. Gone were the boardwalks, swinging doors, spittoons, and moustache towels of the saloon era. In came the speakeasies disguised in creative ways and attracted a different type of woman - a woman that "loosened" up, tossed away her corset, and enjoyed her newfound freedom.
Step into our hidden parlour of pleasure, for a night of bad booze, bare-legged flappers and misplaced morals.

Talk: Dr. Danielle Harel is the co-creator of the Somatica Method of Sex and Relationship Coaching. Somatica is an experiential, relational approach created to help individuals and couples with every aspect of their sexual and relational lives. She is especially good at helping people find deeper intimacy and sexual fulfillment in their relationships. Unique to her practice is the fact that her work is experiential, this means that instead of just talking she uses embodied practices to learn the tools of sex and intimacy. This can include talking, but also breathwork, touch, and real-time emotional communication. She will be bringing her unique methods based on her books: Coming Together, Making Love Real and Cockfidence
