This Month’s Read - "On Swift Horses" by Shannon Pufahl 

The Skirt Book Club is onto its next read. 

Born from the conversations already happening between members inside our Book & Film Club Group Chat, our monthly online gathering gives us the chance to take those discussions off the page and come together face-to-face. 

For October, we're reading On Swift Horses by Shannon Pufahl, before meeting online on Sunday 25 October to share our thoughts, reactions and different perspectives on the book. 

Our Book Club is led by members, with Indigo (@indigochanel) facilitating our monthly conversation alongside Madeline (Madeline13), who continues to help lead the Book & Film Club community inside the app. 

Whether you devour the book in a weekend, read it slowly throughout the month or simply want to listen to what everyone else made of it, you're welcome to join us. 

Indigo will guide our hour together with questions and talking points from the book, while making plenty of space for everyone who wants to contribute. 

Some discussion prompts will be shared in the Book & Film Club Group Chat in the days beforehand, so you can start thinking, sharing and comparing notes before we meet. 

Then we'll gather on Zoom to talk about what we loved, what challenged us and what stayed with us after the final page.

There's no need to have attended our previous Book Club and no pressure to have a perfectly formed opinion on the book. Come ready to contribute, listen or simply enjoy being part of the conversation.

Join the Book & Film Club 

The monthly Zoom is only one part of the Book Club. The Book & Film Club Group Chat inside the Skirt App remains its home. 

That's where members are reading together throughout the month, sharing thoughts as they go, recommending future titles and voting on what the group should read next. 

We'll also share prompts ahead of each online gathering and continue the discussion there afterwards.

What to Expect 

Bring your copy of On Swift Horses, something to sip, and whatever thoughts you've collected along the way. 

This isn't a formal literary discussion. Indigo will guide us, but the conversation belongs to the group.
Different interpretations, questions, thoughtful disagreement and personal reflections are all welcome. 

You don't need to prepare anything and you're equally welcome to listen if you'd rather not speak.
